The ‘Win Draw Win’ bet is a very popular type of wager in football. You place a bet on whether a match will end as a draw, a home win or away win. The wager will only count for the 90 minutes. It is also known as ‘1X2’, ‘Full-Time Result’ and ‘Match Odds’ on different websites. ‘1X2’ represents ‘1’ as a home win, ‘X’ for a draw and ‘2’ for an away win. You can place this wager at a bookie or online betting website. Extra time and penalty shoot outs are excluded from it. It is better to avoid this market in cup matches where there are options of extra time and penalties. There are other markets for those types of bet.

There are three outcomes for this type of wager. There are also ‘Draw No Bet’, ‘double chance’ ‘Half Time Win Draw Win’. These are similar to ‘Win Draw Win’. The draw is not counted in ‘Draw No Bet’. You can cover 2 of the 3 outcomes in ‘Double Chance’. Home team and draw – Your bet is a winner if the home team wins or draws the match. Away team and draw – Your bet is a winner if the away team wins or draws the match. Half-Time Win Draw Win market where the wager is determined by the score after 45 minutes has been played.

Here is the English Premier League match fixture between Liverpool and Aston Villa. Liverpool to win at home has been priced at 2.1 to back and 2.11 to lay. Aston Villa to win away is 4.73 to back and 4.74 to lay, while the draw is 3.17 to back and 3.18 to lay.

  • If you back the home win for £10 and the match ends 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 or any other home win, your return will be £21 (£10 stake and £11 profit) less commission.
  • If you back the away win for £10 and the match ends 0-1, 1-2, 0-4 or any other away win, your return will be £47.30 (£10 stake and £37.30 profit) less commission.
  • If you back the draw for £10 and the match ends 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 or any other level score, your return will be £31.70 (£10 stake and £21.70 profit) less commission.

The market is saying the home is most likely to win. The home win has the lowest price, then the draw and then the away win. You can end up with a great profit if you bet on the away team and they manage to win. So, it is risky but you can earn a lot of money if you can correctly bet against the bookie.

You need to analyse the previous match statistics of teams and compare them to know which odds will give you most profits. You will need to take many factors into account. Many reliable websites provide correct match predictions which can help you bet accordingly.
