The 2019/20 season of Bundesliga will be the 57th season of Germany’s Premier soccer competition and will begin on the 16th of August, 2019. Bayern Munich will go against Hertha on the opening day fixture. Bundesliga is one of the top five leagues in UEFA’s league rankings and has the highest average attendance record in the world with more than 43,000 fans attendance in a game of 2018/19. Bayern Munich is the current champions and will try to defend its league title in the upcoming season, which will end in May 2020.
The 2019/20 season will be without VfB Stuttgart, Hannover 96, FC Nürnberg as they were relegated to 2. Bundesliga after a disappointing last season. On the other hand, FC Köln, SC Paderborn, and Union Berlin will be the clubs that will take their places in the Bundesliga after they received promotion from 2. Bundesliga last season. The season will have 18 teams like usual with the top 4 teams qualify for the Champions League in the following season. Like usual, the 5th and 6th spot clubs will play in the Europa League in the following season.
Bayern Munich is the clear favorites to win the 2019/20 season of Bundesliga after they won their 7th Bundesliga title in a row last season, which was their 28th title in total. Bayern Munich, under their new manager Niko Kovac had to go through some unanticipated collapse last season and had to sit on the 2nd place for a major part of the season. However, Niko Kovac successfully managed to turn things around before the end of the season and won the league. Even though Munich legends Robben and Ribery have already taken part in their last match for the club, the manager will make sure that it doesn’t lead to getting dethroned from their title.
BVB Dortmund made us believe last season that the 2018/19 season would finally be the season when the wrath of Bayern Munich would come to an end as they were very close being victorious in the title race. Unfortunately for them, in the last few matches of the season, they lost some valuable points and lost their lead. Dortmund ended up missing out on the league by only two points and had to be satisfied with a runner-up finish. The 2019/20 season may turn out to be the season Dortmund triumphs the Bundesliga for the sixth time in their history and the first time since the season of 2011-12. They are the second favorites to win the Bundesliga 2019/20.
Rb Leipzig was the nearest to Dortmund and Munch in the last season in the race to the title and ended the season with 12-points less than the titleholders. The club is trying very hard to develop their squad with additional talented faces in the 2019/20 season. They may end up doing something astounding by winning the league. Leipzig has never won the Bundesliga in their history and the closest they came was in 2016/17, where they became the runner-up. However, their consistency in the last few seasons makes them the third favorites to lift the Bundesliga trophy.
In the relegation battle, Sc Paderborn 07 is expected to go down at the end of the season. Sc Freiburg and 1. Fc Union Berlin is not rated very highly by many as well and the two clubs could also end up getting relegated to 2. Bundesliga by the end of the 2019/20 season. German soccer is always very fast and exciting, the new season will be a treat for football fans.
